IHE Nuclear Medicine Profile
The SNM has been working with the IHE to create a set of specifications that will enable more seamless connectivity and interoperability between nuclear medicine vendors and PACS. This set of specifications is in the form of an IHE profile, and is entitled the “NM Image Profile”. The profile has been finalized for vendor testing, and various Nuclear Medicine and PACS vendors are working to implement it in a test environment.

To make sure vendors implement this profile:
- Ask camera vendors if they support the IHE NM Image Profile.
- Ask the same of PACS vendors, processing and viewing station vendors.
(they may not support it today, but just asking will start the process moving)
